Event Highlights

During the exhibition year, various guided tours, readings and events invite you to visit the Museum Langmatt.

All events can be found in the agenda.

Easter egg hunt

Saturday, 3rd April 2021, 13–14 hrs, 14.30–15.30 hrs, 16–17 hrs

The expansive park surrounding the historic Langmatt villa offers any number of hiding places for delicious Easter eggs. The Easter bunny likes to deliver colourful chocolate eggs to the Langmatt for the children of Baden and the surrounding countryside, and has been doing so for many years now. This popular event has seen hundreds of children take part, along with their parents and grandparents. Children are cordially invited to pick up an Easter basket and look for eggs. This event takes place in all weathers. Please bring your own Easter baskets.

For children up to 8 years, per child CHF 10. Registration mandatory.

Poets on the State of the Nation

Saturday, 1st August 2021, 17–20 hrs

After the popular event had to be cancelled in 2020, the well-known Baden author and slam poet Simon Libsig will bring his Poets on the State of the Nation to the Langmatt park, for the fourth time. With their command of words and sly humor, the poets grab the attention of the audience, transforming the 1st of August celebration into something quite different, a sparkling homage to Switzerland.

There will be a festival atmosphere in the Langmatt park – with, of course, ample provision of food and drink.

5th Langmatt Motor Classics

Sunday, 19th September 2021, 11–17 hrs

Once again, engines are roaring at Langmatt. In collaboration with the Museum Langmatt, the Classic Car Club Safenwil and Emil Frey Classics present the 5th Langmatt Motor Classics. This very special oldtimer car meet is a gathering of historic cars outside the art nouveau villa, harking back to one of the great passions of the Brown family, the builders of the Langmatt and founding family of the BBC, today the ABB. The tours, which are popular with the public, take place. Short tours giving a history of the Langmatt and its famous collection of French Impressionist paintings will be held. There is an all-day children’s program.
